It’s the 14th day of my 25 day homeopathic HCG weight loss program. All of the diet consumer reviews suggested that once you got about halfway it was a bit easier. They said it would be more habitual to reach for fresh fruits and veggies. They said it would be more natural to cook using healthy cooking methods.
But I guess all diet consumer reviews aren’t exactly correct in their conclusions. I wouldn’t say I find it easier. I’d say I’m more capable. I know I can cook healthy so if I don’t it’s not because I’m not sure what to do it’s because I’m just not doing it. I know which foods to eat that are HCG approved so if I eat other foods it’s not because I wasn’t sure if they were approved or not it’s because I just did it anyway.
At the same time I think that even though I wouldn’t say it’s easy…it’s definitely an improvement. I know that I can follow the rules. I know that I am aware of sticking to the rules exactly. I just have to wait and see if I will or not. So today when I weighed myself I was at 156. That’s down by a whopping 3 pounds! Impressive, right?
I took my HCG morning, noon and night. I took my B-Total mid-day. That’s different; I usually take it first thing in the morning, but I don’t think it matters as long as you take it once per day. I do agree with the fabulous diet consumer reviews that I read regarding the B-Total. It’s utterly fabulous in addition to the HCG.
My green onion burger at lunch was perfect with half a grapefruit. The Melba Toasts I laid out for lunch ended up hanging around there for an hour or two until I ate them mid-afternoon. I’ve got less than 10 days left on the low calorie portion of the HCG diet. That makes Day 16 one of my favorites so far. Here’s a quick reminder of the program layout. It started off with 2 days of loading. Loading is eating a whole lot of food with a whole lot of fat content and therefore calories. While loading you start taking your HCG three times daily. It’s supposed to increase the ability of the body to absorb the HCG product. After loading you start a 500 calorie per day portion of the diet. I chose to do the program that had me dieting for 23 days, but there are different lengths you can choose from.
After the low calorie portion of the diet the maintenance diet kicks in. On the maintenance you apparently can eat as much as you want of anything you want up to 1500 calories per day and excluding a pretty short list of items. You can’t have sweeteners: sugar, dextrose, honey, molasses, artificial sweeteners, corn syrups, etc. You also can’t have any nitrites, fast food or Trans fat. And you can’t have any starch whatsoever. Man I’m going to miss homemade bread by the time this is all over. Or maybe I won’t even like it anymore…who knows?
That’s a pretty extensive exception, I know. But after the 500 calorie diet it sounds like heaven. I’m so used to limiting myself that the 1500 calorie per day maintenance diet is going to be a breeze; at least that’s what I’m hoping. And it helps that the restrictive diet is actually working; seeing your weight drop is fabulous incentive to keep going.
The recap is now officially over and we need to get down to the nitty gritty of day 16. I weighed in at 156. I’m not really sure why I stuck at the same weight because I did really well with my foods yesterday, but sometimes that happens. In response I went ahead and forced down some green tea today and aimed to drink tons more water.
I’m fine taking the HCG drops three times per day. And I think the B-Total drops are really helpful. I’m thinking of getting online and ordering some more for when these run out.
On day 16 I focused on leftovers. At lunch I had leftover green onion burger with Melba toasts and grapefruit. For dinner I had leftover chicken (the last of it) with strawberries and more Melba Toasts. I drank a ton of water. And I’m hoping I’ll drop down in weight again tomorrow; fingers crossed!
