The Greatest Coffee I’ve Ever Had

December 6th, 2009 | Posted in Food & Beverages

I live in New York, home to some of the best food in the world. The same can be said about coffee too. There are so many great makers of coffee in this city that it’s sometimes hard to keep up with them all.

Not too long ago, I discovered what has quickly become my favorite source for coffee in the city. While this may sound like a bit of a stretch, I mean it when I say that this could very well be the best cup of coffee in the entire city.

The original Stumptown Coffee Roasters is based in Oregon, and there aren’t many locations to date. Still, the coffee here is treasured by its patrons and the chain’s expansion to New York is a pleasant surprise.

I can’t say which of the coffees happens to be my favorite. I might equally love them all, to be honest. What I do know is that patrons all seem to claim that everything there is top notch.

The pricing here is a pleasant surprise too. Most should be prepared to pay higher prices for higher grade coffee beans, but the difference is nothing more than a few cents at best. I’d say it’s well worth the price, as I’ll gladly pay for the quality.

I’ve never been a regular coffee drinker, but Stumptown seems to be turning me into one. I find myself craving it every day now, and I know that I’m not the only one.

I was surprised to see that even Seattle residents who frequent their local Stumptown call it the best coffee they’ve ever had. With so many great options abound in Seattle, such choice words really go to show how great this coffee is.

I don’t know if you’ll be able to get to a Stumptown, but if you can, I’d definitely suggest trying the coffee out. You’ll probably be hooked like I am. If you can’t get to one, make it a point to stop at one if you’re traveling.
