Another option is the vacuum coffee pot. These machines use a vacuum process to make the coffee. One advantage this method has over the French Press is that less sediment is left in the coffee. The vacuum coffee pot considerably more expensive but is an excellent choice for those who like well filtered coffee without the use of a filter.
The ultimate gourmet coffee maker is perhaps the espresso machine. Although very expensive, the espresso machine makes high quality coffee without the use of a filter. High end machines are almost always constructed with quality metal parts. These machines send hot water at a high pressure through tightly packed coffee grounds. The coffee can be made very quickly and the many settings can alter the flavor.
No matter your budget there is a gourmet coffee maker for you. Each one has it’s own unique qualities and different people prefer different machines over others, but all make exceptional coffee.
